Many people were divided on identification, with people split between identifying the fish as Spanish Mackerel or shark. Ed Piotrowski, chief meteorologist with local media outlet WPDE, backed up the claim that the impressive bird was an osprey carrying a mackerel. David Barrett, a birdwatcher, told The New York Post that the killer bird was most likely an osprey.
