Das had reportedly stopped a biker for flouting rules when he suddenly heard a girl's scream from the next alley. He immediately rushed into the dimly lit lane to find a young girl surrounded by some youths. According to Das, they surely were pimps from Sonagachhi as no other person dared to "enter their territory". Embittered by rising distress at home, the girl left for Kolkata in the morning and reached Esplanade. Das stayed put till a Ghola police team, along with the girl's parents, arrived at the Burtola police station to take the girl home.
