Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population on Wednesday confirmed 783 new coronavirus cases, 37 deaths, and 444 recovered cases. The country has now reported a total of 207,289 confirmed cases, 12,290 deaths, and 157,450 recovered cases. Egypt is currently using China’s Sinopharm vaccine for its campaign and has received doses of the UK’s AstraOxford vaccine. The ministry also plans to employ and possible manufacture Russia’s Sputnik-V vaccine, once it makes its way to Cairo. AstraOxford and Sputnik-V received emergency approval from the Egyptian Drug Authority on February 24.
