The new-look stadium will be designed like a lotus, an inspiration which comes from Guangzhou’s status as China’s ‘Flower City’. The construction of the Chinese Super League (CSL) side Guangzhou Evergrande's brand new football stadium is well and truly underway. The new 100,000-capacity stadium will be a straight of the art modern venue, which will also be the largest stadium in the world, will cost a staggering $1.7 billion (12 billion yuan) to build. The new-look stadium will be designed like a lotus, an inspiration which comes from Guangzhou’s status as China’s ‘Flower City’. The club hosted an official ceremony to launch the new stadium and also released pictures and an animated video of how the stadium will look like upon its full construction.
