The BJP, however, blamed Gandhi’s visit saying it was at a time when its MLAs from the flood-affected areas were away at a resort in Bengaluru. Hitting out at the Congress vice-president for the timing of his visit, Rupani tweeted, “Rahul Gandhi’s leadership style is working wonders in his party. Following him, Congress leaders are also in a vacation mode.”Congress national spokesperson Shaktisinh Gohil tweeted, “BJP goons are known for attacking whenever they feel insecure. All 44 Gujarat Congress MLAs had 2 leave Gujarat.”Veteran Congress leader Ahmed Patel is faced with a tough challenge to be re-elected on one of the three Rajya Sabha seats in Gujarat.
