Deputy President William Ruto has warned the electorates in Western against supporting Cord, saying it lacks policy and direction. He urged the Cord principals to give out their campaign policies for the next election, instead of organising demonstrations to solve minor poblems. Ruto said the disorganisation in Cord, to the point where the principals do not know who among them will be the flagbearer in the 2017 elections, shows the lack of direction. The Deputy President said the country has outlived the era where people were elected based on their tribal inclination. “We want to take the country’s politics to another level based on policies alone, not mere talk,” he said.
