Court ruling cancels seizure order on Libyan Guest House in Geneva

The Government of National Unity has secured a court ruling canceling the seizure order on the Libyan Guest House in Geneva, Switzerland; three months after it had been confiscated under a Swiss judicial decision. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Monday that, “as part of coordination between the ministry and the State Litigation Department, the Government of National Unity achieved a legal victory by obtaining a court ruling against Jalouli Telecommunications Company, canceling the seizure order on the Libyan Guest House in Geneva.”The Ministry explained that the ruling came in the public interest after legal arguments convinced the court to overturn the seizure order. The court also ordered the Easy Media Jalouli Group to pay legal costs, in addition to paying 33,755 Swiss francs to the Libyan state as compensation for case expenses. It also stressed its commitment to protecting Libyan state assets abroad and defending them through diplomatic missions in cooperation with relevant authorities.
