Sections of two old buildings collapsed on Suweihli Street and Al-Maari Street in Tripoli, with no injuries, authorities said. According to the Tripoli Security Directorate, part of a staircase inside one of the buildings on Suweihli Street gave way. Patrols from Bab Al-Bahr Police Station, together with emergency teams from Emergency Medicine and Support Service and the National Safety Authority Rescue Teams, were sent to the scene. In a separate incident, a balcony of another building on Al-Maari Street collapsed. The incidents coincided with heavy rainfall across the capital, which flooded several streets and prompted Tripoli municipality to declare a public holiday.
