Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday heaped praises on Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath after the BJP on Saturday won big, decimating the Samajwadi Party. BJP-supported candidates won 46 out of 53 seats in the district panchayat chairman elections. The big win and also PM Modi's praise comes at a time when speculations were rife that ahead of the elections in 2022, there is a power struggle in Uttar Pradesh. "The historic victory of the BJP in the elections of district panchayat chairman in Uttar Pradesh is the result of the public welfare policies of the respected Prime Minister. This is a manifestation of public confidence in the established good governance in Uttar Pradesh," Adityantha wrote thanking the people of the state.
