ISLAMABAD : Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Thursday called upon the the international community to take decisive actions to address the worsening human rights situation in IIOJK and ensure accountability for India’s illegal and unilateral actions. The deputy prime minister, in his message on “Kashmir Solidarity Day” annually observed on February 5, urged the world to persuade India to implement the United Nations Security Council resolutions and allow the Kashmiri people their promised right to self-determination. He reiterated Pakistan’s firm and unwavering support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their just struggle for the right to self-determination. India’s persistent defiance undermines the United Nations Charter, the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the Fourth Geneva Convention, he added. Our efforts will remain focused on securing a peaceful and lasting resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute,” the deputy prime minister resolved.
