The Edmonton Police Service sent out a brief statement Friday saying one of its members was arrested as part of an ongoing investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT), which investigates incidents in which police used force. Police say the officer has been taken off duty without pay, pending confirmation from the Edmonton Police Commission. The officer is getting support and assistance from the EPS Employee and Family Assistance Section. EPS did not offer further details.
