CAIRO - 16 January 2021: Egypt's Health Ministry said in a statement that 887 new coronavirus cases were detected on Saturday, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 155,507. Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 54 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 8,527. As many as 499 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 122,291 so far, the spokesman said.
