For years, people have taken a break from the chaos of Ikea stores by collapsing in its cafes. The idea came up in an interview with Ikea officials on Monday in Fast Company. Ikea has been looking across its businesses for new profit centers, and recently realized that its food operations might be an opportunity. Ikea cafes have been a part of its stores in 1958, a year after the first Ikea opened in Sweden. The company's founder, Ingvar Kamprad, reasoned that company sales might fare better if it took care of hangry customers.
