Gaza’s ceasefire threatens to shatter due to Israel’s mounting violations

Nearly a month after the US announced the start of the second phase of the Gaza Strip ceasefire, signs are mounting that the agreement is threatening to collapse. Israeli violations and mounting list of casualties continues almost daily, while international condemnation of Israel’s decision to annex West Bank land is escalating. Israel hampers operation of the Rafah crossingHamas said in a statement on Monday that Israel is committing a “blatant violation” of the Rafah crossing’s operating mechanisms stipulated in the ceasefire agreement, accusing it of “systematic violations” against people returning to the Gaza Strip. Doctors Without Borders announced that it has been unable to deliver any aid or humanitarian supplies to Gaza Strip since the beginning of this year, despite the ceasefire agreement. Indonesia further announced its readiness to deploy 1,000 troops to Gaza Strip in early April as part of a multinational peacekeeping force.
