The German Special Envoy to Libya, Christian Buck, has reiterated Germany's readiness to support the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG), the new head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Abdoulaye Bathily. “A particular privilege to meet and congratulate Abdoulaye Bathily, the new SRSG for Libya and head of UNSMIL, together with German Ambassador to UN Antje Leendertse in New York. Berlin stands ready to support him and his mission”, Buck said in a tweet. The German ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, commented on the meeting, saying “welcome again, SRSG Abdoulaye Bathily, looking forward to having the opportunity to meet and work with you in and for Libya”.
