Google has announced it will end support for its Chrome web browser on macOS 12 in mid-2026, with the change taking effect as the company raises minimum system requirements. According to Google, Chrome version 151 will be the first release to officially stop supporting macOS 12. Google warned that continuing to use unsupported browser versions increases the risk of attacks through unpatched vulnerabilities, particularly as new threats emerge. Google recommends that users still on macOS 12 upgrade to macOS 13 or newer to maintain browser security and ensure continued access to Chrome updates. MacOS 12, known as Monterey, dates back to October 2021.
