Mark 'Hammer' Hammett is a head coach again, at least for a week or so. The former Hurricanes and Sunwolves coach has been in charge of the Highlanders since Sunday, after head coach Aaron Mauger flew to Christchurch for "family reasons". In addition to coaching the Sunwolves in 2016, Hammett was also the caretaker head coach of Japan. Brown coached Otago up until the end of last year, while defence coach Glenn Delaney coached Canterbury to the Mitre 10 Cup title last year, and previously was head coach and director of rugby at London Irish. "There are differences in it," Hammett said when asked about adjusting to being a head coach again.
