HUBBALLI: The Railway Board has assured to complete the much-awaited Hubballi-Chikjajur line doubling work by 2019. In a statement, Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi , who met Railway Board chairman AK Mital here on Sunday, said: "As per the current deadline, the work has to be concluded by 2020. However, considering our request, the Railway Board has assured of completing it a year earlier. Mital has also directed officials to start train operations on the second line, wherever it's completed. He underlined the need to complete various works that improve section capacity in a time-bound manner and emphasized the need to improve loading and fine-tune the strategy for increasing efficiency.
