Aggrieved people form a human chain at Nimtala Samity Bazar of Kabirhat upazila in Noakhali on Sunday, January 20, 2019 Dhaka TribuneThe speakers demanded exemplary punishment of the rape accused immediatelyPeople from all walks of life at Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali district organized a human chain on Sunday protesting the gang-rape in Dhanshiri union’s Nabagram village on Friday. The chain was formed at Nimtala Samity Bazar of the upazila around 11am. Teachers and students of local educational institutions, traders and local politicos organized the one-hour programme protesting the crime. Among others, the function was addressed by Dhanshiri union unit Awami League Organizing Secretary Ibrahim Khalil, Nimtala Samity Bazar Committee General Secretary Md Sahab Uddin and Paresh Chandra, headmaster of Nabagram High School. Zakir is a local grocery trader, confirms Kabirhat police station Officer-in-Charge Mirza Md Hasan.
