Italy is counting on Congo-Brazzaville to back a bid to organize World Expo 2030 in the city of Rome, the European country’s ambassador to the African country indicated Saturday. The Italian city is in competition with Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Odessa (Ukraine) and Busan (South Korea). Italian authorities early last month launched an official campaign to host the World Expo 2030 in the historic city. The Bureau des Expositions Internationales (BIE) based in Paris will make a review of candidates for the “2030 Expo” and eliminate the weaker candidates. Italy through the city of Milan already organized the World Expo in 2015.
