The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Nuhu Goroh Shadalafiya, winner of Kagarko state constituency rerun election into the Kaduna House of Assembly held on Saturday. Shadalafiya, a former deputy speaker of the assembly polled 24,658 votes to defeat Morondia Tanko of PDP who scored 20,206 votes. The Appeal Court in Kaduna while affirming the judgement of the Election Tribunal on Tuesday, November 19, dismissed Tanko’s appeal which challenged the lower court’s judgement. In a related development, Mrs Comfort Amwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was declared the winner of the election for Sanga constituency. Amwe scored 19,815 votes to defeat Hon Haliru Gambo of APC who polled 19,688 votes in the keenly contested election.
