(File photo: Apichart Jinakul)The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has ruled that Chaithip Kamolpantip, a former Ratchaburi MP and current parliamentary candidate for the Klatham Party, committed a serious violation of ethical standards after being found to have engaged in gambling inside the parliament building. Two witnesses testified they encountered Mr Chaithip and three others seated around a square table holding playing cards, with gambling chips placed on the table. A second witness corroborated the account, saying they had previously seen Mr Chaithip and others playing cards in the office. The Klatham Party member did not present witnesses to rebut the allegations and claimed the game did not involve wagering, a defence the NACC rejected.
