LWSC To Restore Safe Drinking Water to Pre-War Capacity Soon

Monrovia – The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) says it will by next week complete the water treatment plant rehabilitation that will restore pre-war capacity of the plant and are also developing independent water system in two communities in Monrovia. According to Mr. N. Hun-By Tulay managing director LWSC, the two communities include; the Soul Clinic community and the New Georgia community. The installation will mean the two communities will no longer rely on the water supply from the White Plains, with the establishment of an independent service with boreholes. As part of the World Bank support to water and sanitation in Liberia LWSC boss told journalists at a news conference Friday that the World Bank is financing the transmission and distribution water supply system to Monrovia. He said, efforts are also underway by the LWSC to encourage the World Bank to contribute to the sanitation and sewage problem of Liberia.
