Mani has said that the government and the Kerala State Electricity Board should give due importance to saving electricity even while enhancing power generation. He said the measures for saving electricity was as much important as generating it. Solar powerHe said the State had the first place in the country in saving power. He said the government planned to generate 1,000 MW electricity from solar power. He said 500 MW of it would be generated from the solar power plant at Purapura and through floating power panels on reservoirs.
