“Exploration drilling in Libya is more of a marathon than a sprint,” Seeliger explained. “To condition yourself for this type of drilling, you need to have your crews, processes and rigs ready before you start. Looking ahead, Seeliger believes the next five years will define Libya’s upstream sector. Drilling contractors will need to go beyond traditional drilling roles to support operators with training, services and logistical infrastructure that ensure smooth operations in challenging conditions. “its going to be about bringing the right training the right services and the right support so that you can operate in a remote environment.”
