A Libyan government delegation arrived in Brazil on Sunday to recover an ancient smuggled statue, according to a statement by the Libyan interior ministry. The delegation, led by Deputy Head of Libya’s Tourism Agency Ahmed al Riahi, seeks to prove Libyan ownership of the statue and requested examination from a Brazilian judge, the ministry said.
