Libya wins court ruling against Jallouli Telecommunications, cancelling seizure order on its Geneva Libyan Guest House

Libya’s Tripoli based Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced yesterday that, within the framework of coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the State Litigation Department, the Tripoli government recorded a legal victory after succeeding in obtaining a court ruling against Jallouli Telecommunications, cancelling the seizure order on the Libyan Guest House in the Swiss city of Geneva. The ruling was issued in favour of the public interest after the submission of legal defences that convinced the court to rule against the seizure order. In addition, the court obliged the Jallouli Telecommunications – Easy Media Group to pay the legal costs of the case, as well as an amount of 33.755 Swiss francs to the State of Libya as compensation for case expenses. It will be recalled that the NOC had also been sucked into this dispute and is in the process of appealing in a separate case. NOC loses judgment in a case in which it is not a party, but to appeal in final court of appeal
