The Ministry of Local Governance has held talks with the German development agency GIZ on reforming the country’s municipal system. The meeting brought together officials from the ministry’s monitoring and performance department and a regional expert specialising in performance indicators and data analysis. Discussions focused on strengthening good governance through the introduction of measurable performance benchmarks aimed at improving institutional efficiency and service delivery. Plans for specialised training programmes to build the capacity of municipal staff were also reviewed.
