Protesters gathered in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, late on Friday, calling for the removal of all political authorities in both the east and west of the country. Demonstrators assembled in Martyrs’ Square, chanting slogans against corruption and opposing the settlement of migrants. They also demanded the formation of a unified government to assert control over all Libyan territory. The rally comes amid growing public frustration over rising prices of basic goods and a sharp depreciation of the dinar, with the dollar exchange rate surpassing 10 dinars.
