An MP has sown confusion by telling potentially tens of thousands of people to self-isolate after attending big events in Hamilton and Auckland on Saturday, despite the Ministry of Health offering no such advice. He did not say who had asked them to self-isolate and did not respond to calls from Stuff to clarify. However, the Ministry of Health has not said this was necessary for attendees at either event. “If people have been at those events or others and places of interest, then they should self-isolate,” Dr Bloomfield said. The concert’s health and safety manager Stacey Henderson said all Ministry of Health Covid-19 practices were put in place before 25,000 fans gathered in Hamilton.
