This comes barely a week after Trans Mara East deputy county commissioner Gathongo Machira and his Trans Mara West Counterpart Joseph Maina held a peace meeting in Pimbiniet. A man was hacked to death after crossing into Trans Mara East to collect a debt, in a suspected retaliatory attack on Friday evening. Joseph ole Kirionki who hails from Trans Mara West was attacked by unknown people shortly after crossing Mogor River. Area chief Leboi ole Munke said the Maasai man may have been killed by members of the Kipsigis community. Maasai and Kipsigis youths from the area had been involved in skirmishes following land conflict that left several dead.
