Legalized mobile sports betting is currently taking place in New York. FanDuel, DraftKings, Caesars Sportsbook, and Rush Street Interactive are the first companies to allow the New York State Gaming Commission to offer mobile betting on sports games, with the sportsbook launching in the state today at 9am. New York is the fourth most populous state in the United States and is currently the largest state to legalize sports betting. In addition, the first four companies offer valuable marketing opportunities to accumulate promotional offers to New York customers with their first bet. The other five gambling companies (Bally Bet, BetMGM, WynnBet, PointsBet, Empire Resorts) have a 10-year online sports betting license in New York, but have not yet passed statutory and regulatory requirements.
