Open doors to trafficking victims, help them, Zahid tells Malaysian companies

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian companies should emulate American corporate sectors by opening doors and help human trafficking victims, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today. Zahid said few companies from the United States (US) have already offered employment to these victims and Malaysia should follow suit. "We encourage non governmental organisations to give the opportunity to human trafficking victims to work. The government also provides funding to these NGO's to assist them in their effort to protect and help the victims . Zahid was responding to a question by Datuk Raime Unggi (BN-Tenom) who asked him to state factors that can help to improve Malaysia's positioning in US' State Department’s Trafficking in Persons Report.
