(@FahadShabbir)CAIRO (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 08th October, 2022) The bodies of more than a dozen migrants have been found off the coast of western Libya following a shipwreck, the Sabratha branch of the Libyan Red Crescent informs. The aid group's rescue workers recovered 15 bodies on Friday, including burned bodies in a boat, the Libyan Red Crescent said. Libyan media reported on Friday that the illegal migrants found dead after a shipwreck had been caught in a dispute between two rival groups of smugglers specializing in transporting people to Europe. In early September, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) reported that the number of illegal migrants who had arrived in the European Union in January-August 2022 was the highest ever recorded over the eight-month period since 2016.
