Presidential Council (PC) head, Mohamed Menfi, held a meeting on Monday with a committee of economic experts tasked by the Council to draw up a plan of urgent economic measures aimed at steering the national economy towards sustainable growth. According to the PC’s media office, the committee presented its first report and recommended that it be referred to the authorities with direct responsibility for the matters outlined. The report is seen as a roadmap for immediate interventions needed in key economic sectors. The meeting also discussed a series of steps the president intends to take in the coming period to bloster the state’s strategic interests and safeguard citizens’ economic rights.
