When Sidney Crosby won the Stanley Cup in 2009 he was 21 and it was his second consecutive trip to the Stanley Cup Final. The title was the Penguins’ fourth in franchise history, all won on the road, and Crosby won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the playoffs. Sharks forward Dainius Zubrus was sent off for tripping Penguins defenseman Brian Dumoulin at 7:50, and Dumoulin made him pay for that. They had a chance to clinch the Cup at home on Thursday in Game 5, but the Sharks pushed them to a sixth game. Penguins goaltender Matt Murray tied a record for the most wins by a rookie goalie in one postseason with 15.
