The newly-formed Election Monitoring Forum also claimed that the current environment for election is better than any previous election’s. During a press conference at National Press Club on Tuesday, EMF’s Executive Director Mohammad Abed Ali said: “All our observers have received approval from the commission [Election Commission]. This move proves that the commission remains neutral and has ensured a level playing field.”According to Abed Ali, the forum will deploy a total 5796 local and 10 foreign observers. Abed Ali, however, also claimed that a vested group is trying to bribe election observers so that they provide their observations in favor of that specific group’s preference. The forum will consist of 31 election observing organizations and 26 NGOs, confirms Abed Ali.
