Prosecutors say bus blaze that killed 26 was caused by driverTAIPEI, Taiwan -- Prosecutors are likely to close a probe into the Taoyuan tour bus blaze that killed 26 people, after concluding that the blaze was caused by arson committed by bus driver, who was also killed in the accident, the United Daily News website reported on Friday, citing informed sources. The blaze killed 24 Chinese tourists from China's Liaoning Province, one local tour guide and one Taiwanese driver after the bus smashed into a roadside barrier and caught fire on National Freeway No. During the investigations, prosecutors ruled out the possibilities of the fire being caused by any mechanical or electrical factors. Investigators concluded that the bus driver, identified as Su Ming-cheng, drank heavily before setting fire with gasoline. Accordingly, prosecutors and police investigators could only use pieces of evidence collected to frame up the whole picture of the blaze.
