They won series in the West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Australia, as well as beating all-comers at home. Winning in England, though, has eluded them for some time; India have not won a Test series here since 2007. Shastri knows what it is to taste success as a player, having enjoyed a series victory here in 1986. As such, he has bragging rights on Kohli, for whom England so far has remained unconquered territory, at least as leader if not as player.
