SC questions preparedness of Sindh CM regarding Karachi encroachment case

The Supreme Court Karachi Registry summered Sindh Cheif Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah during a hearing pertaining to the Karachi illegal encroachments case on Tuesday, wherein Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed was dismayed over the unpreparedness of the official. The CJP noted that multi-storey buildings were built on a permit for a one-storey building. “Government lands are out of your hands,” CJP Ahmed said, pointing out that the case has been ongoing for years without sufficient progress to address the issues. After a brief recess, Murad, accompanied by Murtaza Wahab and provincial minister for local government Nasir Shah, asked for two weeks’ time to prepare the report. He pointed out that the census committee had forwarded its suggestions to the premier without consulting the Sindh government.
