SHAH ALAM (March 31): The biodiesel production capacity from large-scale facilities such as SD Guthrie Bhd’s (KL:SDG) in Carey Island is critical in ensuring supply continuity and supporting the existing biodiesel usage mandate for Malaysia’s transportation and industrial sectors. During her official working visit to the biodiesel plant in Carey Island, she also observed first-hand the plant’s capacity and processing technology, which is among the key contributors to Malaysia’s palm-based green energy industry. Continuous initiatives by industry players such as SD Guthrie in enhancing biodiesel production facilities are a progressive step that should be commended,” she said in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities. Noraini highlighted that close collaboration between industry players and the government’s policy framework is key to realising Malaysia’s aspiration of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. We also call on more industry players to continue investing in innovation and green technology for the sustainability of the economy and the environment for future generations,” she said.
