Saravanan calls for tougher enforcement on road safety, not just laws

PETALING JAYA: Stronger enforcement must go hand in hand with legal penalties to curb reckless driving and improve road safety, says MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M Saravanan. They must be supported by consistent enforcement to ensure no more innocent lives are lost. “Our roads must not become places of fear, and no Malaysian should have to travel in fear,” he said. Saravanan added that those who drive recklessly and cause death while intoxicated must face the harshest possible penalties to reflect the gravity of the offence. A motorcyclist was killed when he was hit by an alleged drunk driver on Jalan Raya Barat, Klang.
