Security, shelters boosted along Cambodia borderThe Royal Thai Army is stepping up security along the Thai–Cambodian border, building 182 civilian shelters to protect residents and personnel after recent tensions eased. Of the 182 shelters planned, 108 fall under the Burapha Task Force and 74 under the Suranaree Task Force. Lt Gen Adul Boonthamcharoen, the defence minister, thanked the public for its support and reiterated the government's commitment to safeguarding sovereignty, maintaining border security and assisting affected communities. He said effective operations depend on cooperation from all sectors, particularly public contributions of information, resources and assistance, which help authorities respond more effectively to local needs. Lt Gen Adul said all contributions would be managed through official channels to ensure fairness, while encouraging continued public involvement in supporting border communities.
