Mujib: The Making of a Nation, the biopic of the first Bangladesh president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, will be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 13.The film, directed by veteran Indian filmmaker Shyam Benegal , is a Bangladesh-India co-production between the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation and India’s National Film Development Corporation.Speaking about the film, Shyam Benegal earlier said, Mujib – The Making of a Nation remains a very emotional film for me; to bring Bangabandhu’s towering life on reel is a tough task; we have portrayed his character in an uncompromising way. I am glad to be working on this feature film. It has always been a fruitful association working with NFDC since its inception, and now collaborating with BFDC was a joyful experience. "Mujib: The Making of a Nation has been filmed in Bengali, and Shyam Benegal has also cast Bangladeshi actors in the film. The trailer of the film was unveiled at Cannes last year.
