President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned national and county leaders against politicising development at the expense of taxpayers. "I have seen leaders blame each other infrastructure and while they do this, the common mwananchi lacking these rights suffers. Uhuru said on Monday that both levels of government should focus on fulfilling their mandate, not the political gains of government-funded projects. Uhuru said the government's interest is the people of Kenya, "hence [we] must ensure resources put into projects are used properly". The televised summit was organised by the President’s communications team, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the Presidential Delivery Unit.
