District Judge and chairman of the District Legal Services Authority Alapati Giridhar on Saturday asked investigation officers to collect CCTV footage whenever possible since it would be accepted as an evidence in cases. He said that the Supreme Court of India had approved utilisation of electronic form of evidence in trial. The court conducted a training programme for police officers and child welfare officers. He said the investigation officials would be held responsible if they failed to procure CCTV footage when the option was there to prove charges against persons facing allegations.
