LOS ANGELES — The pilot episode of Netflix's hit miniseries "Baby Reindeer" presents viewers with the following message: "This is a true story." But how much of "Baby Reindeer" creator Richard Gadd's fictionalized retelling of a life-altering encounter with a serial stalker is actually true? In June, the woman who allegedly inspired the stalker character in "Baby Reindeer" sued Netflix for negligence and defamation. As part of the settlement, Netflix agreed to move a disclaimer (similar to the one attached to "Baby Reindeer") from the end credits to the opening of the show. Gadd has said that a considerable effort was made to obscure the identity of his real stalker when making "Baby Reindeer."

China has begun to hold war games around Taiwan, sending a warning to Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te. The escalation comes after Lai made a speech last week that China saw as promoting Taiwan’s independence. China’s army, navy, air force, rocket force, and other troops are taking part in the drills. While China routinely conducts naval and air exercises near Taiwan, these drills are unusually large, sending a threat to Taiwan. The war games risk escalating tensions with the U.S., as its support for Taiwan has long been a tough point between the U.S. and China.

In the US, Gilead charges around $44 000 per patient per year for lenacapavir treatment4—a price that is unaffordable to low and middle income countries. It also missed out an important group of middle income countries: Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Peru. Gilead missed a great opportunity to invest in and strengthen local manufacturing in the region where its trial was conducted and in countries with the highest burden of HIV. Gilead chose these four countries for its Purpose-2 trial based on their HIV incidence, especially in sexual and gender minorities. Tackling the middle income dilemma has become one of the most urgent, pressing imatters in the United Nations’ goal of ending AIDS by 2030.

It’s hard to even imagine just a couple days ago she gave birth, much less in a tour bus with no medicine or anything… just beyond impressive. Comment: Why ‘Never Trump’ conservatives must vote for Harris
In 2016, I published an article urging Never Trump conservatives to consider casting their ballot for a third-party candidate. It seemed reasonable to argue that a significant tally for a third-party candidate might check her liberal ambitions. Despite losing the national popular vote, Trump squeaked into office by edging out Hillary Clinton in states key to the Electoral College, where polls were way off the mark. But if he loses big in the popular vote, as well as losing the electoral vote, it will be harder for him to claim that he is the people’s choice. If you abstain or vote for somebody other than Kamala Harris, you effectively vote for Trump.
