Vietnam to export first processed chicken lot to Japan
Inside CPV Food chiecken processing factory (Source: CPV Food)– CPV Food Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the CP Vietnam Corporation , plans to ship the first lot of processed chicken to Japan within October after managing to meet all food safety and quarantine requirements in the market.Right from the first day of operating its factory, the company has always committed to 100% traceability of the entire supply chain from the source of feed ingredients to product processing, ensuring best practices in environment and animal welfare.It has received close coordination from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Department of Animal Health during the supervision of poultry diseases and food safety of the supply chain as well as the implementation of sanitation requirement.At the send-off ceremony for the lot, the department will present CPV Food with a Health Certificate to mark the first shipment of Vietnamese chicken under the brand name of CPV Food to Japan Earlier, after sending a team to CPV Food in southern Binh Phuoc province to evaluate the chicken production and processing chain, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan had recognised that CPV Food satisfies all the veterinary hygiene requirements of Japan, enabling it to export products to the market.CPV Food chicken breeding and processing complex was set up in December 2020 at Becamex Binh Phuong industrial park with a total investment of 250 million USD, becoming the largest and most modern of its kind in Vietnam./.

Vietnam’s clipboards to be subject to US’s anti-dumping investigation
Illustrative image (Photo: Internet)Hanoi (VNA) - The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has received a petition for an anti-dumping investigation into clipboards imported from Vietnam, China and India, said the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Trade Remedies Authority. The preliminary data from the US International Trade Commission showed that during 2019-2021, the value of Vietnam’s exports to the US, which were under investigation, surged to nearly 31 million USD in 2021 from 6 million USD in 2019. Under the US investigation regulations, the DOC will decide to initiate an investigation into the case within 20 days from the date of receipt of the petition. In order to protect their legitimate interests, the Vietnamese producers and exporters are advised to actively study and grasp the US’s anti-dumping investigation procedures. They are required to fully follow the US investigation agency’s requirements and work closely with the Trade Remedies Authority during the investigation./.

UNDP pledges to help Vietnam in human rights-based approach to climate action

French-funded project helps Vietnam develop fisheries sector
An overview of the conference (Photo: VNA)– French-funded projects, including the one on the feasibility study of the construction of a national aquaculture geographic information system (NAGIS), can help Vietnam realise the orientations for the agro-forestry-fisheries chain development towards sustainability, said Nhu Van Cam, Director of the Aquaculture Farming Department under the Directorate of Fisheries , on October 18.Addressing a Hanoi conference to review the outcomes of the project, Can said that NAGIS is important in promoting the establishment of a technological platform serving the management of aquaculture, as well as the development planning, mapping, monitoring and control of aquaculture in order to reduce risks caused by climate change.He underlined that the NAGIS project completely matches the development orientation of the fisheries industry in general and the aquatic farming sector in particular of localities.This is an effective support tool for fisheries management agencies to make specific policies based on accurate scientific analysis and parameters thanks to advanced technology, he said.The project has six main components, including the implementation of a survey on users’ demands, a GIS pilot project, and the piloting of water quality measurement stations.Pierre Martin, Deputy Economic Counselor at the Embassy of France, held that the project is a step forward in cooperation between Vietnam and France in the field of satellite services. He also expressed his hope that the NAGIS construction project will soon be carried out in Vietnam.Previously, the French government supported Vietnam in installing the vessel monitoring system (VMS) on 3,000 fishing boats in 28 coastal localities./.

Vietnam shines amid global economic volatilities

(Photo: VNA)- Despite global volatilities , Vietnam’s economy has rebounded strongly this year beyond the forecasts of many international organisations , making the country one of the rare bright spots in the global gloomy picture and has the potential to become a new ‘tiger’ in Asia.The latest report from the General Statistics Office (GSO) showed Vietnam's GDP growth rate in the first nine months of 2022 hit a 12-year high to reach 8.83%. Notably, the economy expanded 13.76% in Q3 2022 compared to 7.72% and 5.05% in Q2 and Q1 2022, respectively. The impressive surge has resulted in their upgrade of the country’s economic growth forecast, of which Moody’s, Fitch Ratings, World Bank (WB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) predict Vietnam's GDP growth in 2022 at 8.5%, 7.9%, 7.2% and 7%, respectivelyThe upgrade is very notable when the organisations have lowered their 2022 global economic growth outlook. According to the National Assembly's (NA) Committee for Economic Affairs, 15 social-economic development targets, except the social labour productivity growth rate, are expected to be met or exceeded this year.Right after the nine-month socio-economic statistics were published, the Ministry of Planning and Investment also decided to adjust up the 2022 economic growth scenario.

Vietnam-Laos trade surpasses 1.2 billion USD in first nine months
(Photo: VNA)Vientiane (VNA) – Trade turnover between Vietnam and Laos hit 1.22 billion USD in the first nine months of 2022, up 29% year-on-year. Of the total, exports were valued at 465.7 million USD, up 4.1%, and imports 755.8 million USD, up 51.3%. Vietnam’s main exports included fruit and vegetables (44.8 million USD, up 230%), petrol and diesel (52.4 million USD, up 268%) and fertilisers (26.5 million USD, up 53.4%). The country mainly imported rubber (169.3 million USD, up 58.7%), fertilisers (67.4 million USD, up 123.3%), and wood and wooden products (106.2 million USD, up 49.7%) from Laos. According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Laos, with the current growth pace, two-way trade may reach 1.6 billion USD this year, up 20% year-on-year, fulfilling the target set by the countries’ senior leaders at the 44th meeting of the inter-governmental committee on bilateral cooperation./.

Lao newspaper hails Vietnam's tourism recovery

According to the article, Vietnam was one of the first countries to reopen its doors to foreign tourists, and the tourism sector has recovered strongly after more than two years affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
