PARIS — The Việt Nam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC) and Sanofi on Tuesday signed a document guiding the cooperation in manufacturing some vaccines of the French pharmaceutical group in the Southeast Asian country. Accordingly, Sanofi will broadly share its knowledge and expertise on biotechnology with the Vietnamese partner to create conditions for gradually manufacturing essential vaccines at the VNVC factory in Việt Nam. This important partnership will not only facilitate Vietnamese people’s access to vaccines but also help ensure stable vaccine supply and reduce many expenses. In Việt Nam, it supplied more than 7 million high-quality vaccine doses in 2023. It prioritises cooperation with Sanofi and other pharmaceutical firms so as to manufacture important vaccines and drugs, helping ensure sufficient supply for Việt Nam.

HÀ NỘI — Recent medical studies have shown that the rate of myopia in Vietnamese children is increasing, especially in cities. Currently, all children under six nationwide are granted free health insurance cards, and nearly 100 per cent of Vietnamese children are fully vaccinated, according to the deputy minister. In HCM City, 75.6 per cent of surveyed children had refractive errors and 52.7 per cent of those had myopia. Myopia and eye diseases can limit children's ability to learn. In the current digital age, children are inevitably exposed to smart electronic devices such as computers and mobile phones, so parents need to remind children to regulate their usage so that they do not spend too much time using the devices.

LONG AN – Long An Province has implemented breakthrough programmes and key projects envisaged under a resolution adopted at the 11th province Party Congress, term 2020-25. The transport programme has focused on eight projects: Lương Bình – Bình Chánh road, Hựu Thạnh – Tân Bửu road, Provincial Road 826E (section from the Provincial Road 826C intersection to Cần Giuộc Bridge), the road connecting Rạch Dơi bridge to Provincial Road 826E, Đức Hoà dynamic axis (road connecting Provincial Road 822 - Provincial Road 823 - Provincial Road 823B - Provincial Road 825), Provincial Road 826D (Tân Tập – Long Hậu) section from Belt Road 4 to Provincial Road 830, upgrading and expanding the Provincial Road 824 section from Tua Một to Ranh Canal bridge, and Hùng Vương Street - the National Highway No. Of these the Hùng Vương Street – National Highway 62 intersection and Provincial Road 824 section have been completed, and the construction of Provincial Road 826D will be done in 2026 - 28. Its vocational training establishments and schools have co-operated with more than 200 companies in the province and elsewhere to provide vocational training in combination with providing jobs for local workers. DoLISA has strengthened advocacy for vocational training and provided counselling for high school students on vocational pathways.

According to the General Statistics Office, Việt Nam welcomed nearly 1.3 million international visitors in this September, a 20.9 per cent increase from last September. South Korea led the way with 3.3 million visitors, followed by China with 2.7 million. According to the Việt Nam National Administration of Tourism, the primary drivers of this growth were the major markets in Northeast Asia. In terms of recovery compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019, India led with an impressive 305 per cent growth.
