Logano will start up front for the NASCAR All-Star race after turning a lap of 1:29.75 on Saturday during qualifying at North Wilkesboro Speedway. NASCAR is determining how the remainder of the field for the All-Star race will be set, so Kyle Larson's starting position remains unclear. Earlier in the day, Logano was all smiles after winning his first All-Star race pole. Bell's pit crew earned $100,000 for winning the pit crew challenge. Twenty drivers will participate in the All-Star race, 17 of which have already earned their way in through past accomplishments.

The new roadmap would strengthen, better support and enrich the exceptional cooperation between Morocco and the Bretton Woods institution, the two sides underlined. During the meeting, the World Bank president praised the leadership of King Mohammed VI in economic reforms and social construction, noting that the Kingdom is a model of resilience and crisis management, thanks to targeted and effective government actions. He pointed out that the World Bank’s new priorities for South countries will be focused in particular on five key job-creating sectors: electrification, infrastructure, health, agribusiness, and tourism. The WB Chief added that the partnership with Morocco will soon be further strengthened in several priority areas to promote job creation in the private sector, strengthen human capital, and support the fight against climate change. The WB chief also congratulated Morocco for the excellent arrangements put in place to ensure the success of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, held in Marrakech in October 2023.

These factors do not only boost their performances in competition but also influence their strategic decisions at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) level. This approach contrasts with the dominant model of African clubs and academies, which depend on the export of players, which affects their performance in African football league tournaments. On the African stage, Esperance has won the CAF Champions League four times, affirming its status as a leading club in African football. The CAF Champions League final between the two North African clubs, Al Ahly and Esperance Tunis, will be another occasion to celebrate African football. North Korea has test-fired a tactical ballistic missile equipped with a "new autonomous navigation system", state media said Saturday, with leader Kim Jong Un vowing to boost the country's nuclear force. In this photo provided by the North Korean government, the country's leader Kim Jong Un, second left, visits a defence industrial complex at an undisclosed place in North Korea on May 17, 2024. "The accuracy and reliability of the autonomous navigation system were verified through the test fire," Pyongyang's KCNA said Saturday, adding leader Kim expressed "great satisfaction" over the launch. North Korea's latest weapons tests were likely intended to attract the attention of Putin while he was in China, said Ahn Chan-il, a defector-turned-researcher who runs the World Institute for North Korea Studies. Inter-Korean relations are at one of their lowest points in years, with Pyongyang declaring Seoul its "principal enemy".

Markkanen, who sponsored House Bill 5462, said, when he introduced the bill in February, that Karna had served his country bravely in its time of greatest need. Brad Uren, Karna’s great-nephew, testified with Markkanen during the committee meeting where they outlined how an Italian historian with a metal detector recently unearthed Private Karna’s canteen. Private Karna had scratched his name into it. Instead of living the American Dream of buying a house, getting married, and having children, Private Karna deployed overseas with the US Army. Because men like Private Karna were willing to sacrifice everything, the mainland United States hasn’t seen war since the 1800’s.

Tunisian authorities should respect and protect space for independent civil society to operate fully and freely. A person close to the case told Human Rights Watch that security forces questioned Mosbah about Mnemty’s funding and activities. These constitute unlawful collective expulsions, which are prohibited by the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, Human Rights Watch said. Human Rights Watch has previously expressed concerns about another draft law on associations. “Targeting nongovernmental groups supporting migrants, asylum seekers, and refugees is part of a broader effort to dismantle Tunisia’s civic space,” Fakih said.

El Obeid — Community leaders of El Obeid, capital of North Kordofan, earlier this week reached an agreement with commanders of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the area to reopen the road linking El Obeid with Tandalti in White Nile state. The North Kordofan capital, besieged by the RSF since the war began in April last year, is witnessing relative calm these days.
